Problem: Excessively premature wear of cutting blades, which rotated at extremely high-speeds, caused frequent production interruptions for replacement or sharpening. Conventional coatings failed to prevent abrasion or required a surface coating so thick it affected sharpness. Solution: An ultra-thin GOLDENEDGE coating increased surface hardness to an equivalent of Rc 85 and extended the blades' wear between sharpenings from 4,000 to over 10,000 cuts, reducing downtime.
