Problem:
A manufacturer of gears used for gages in clean room environments wanted to ensure a longer lifespan for parts to prevent failure, while adding dry lubricity.  Dry lubricity is essential in clean room environments where contaminants are simply not an option.

Solution:
The technical team at Magnaplate evaluated the issue and recommended coating the gears with Nedox SF-2.  Nedox SF-2 not only creates a harder-than-steel surface, but it also provides dry lubricity and has a COF as low as 0.09.  Since coating the gears, the manufacturer has been very happy with the performance and end-users are satisfied with the parts' suitability for clean rooms.

Nedox is a superior alternative to other common industry coatings such as nickel plating, electroless nickel, sulfamate nickel, co-dep electroless nickel (or EN), polymer impregnated (or infused) electroless nickel.
