Problem:
A make-up manufacturer approached the Magnaplate technical team with a tight deadline and a big problem: plastic lipstick holders were getting stuck in the 'boats' that are used during the assembly of the lipstick into the holders.  A careful examination of the boats showed that they were coated with Nylon and needed to be carefully stripped down.

Solution:
Following the stripping, the Magnaplate team coated each boat with TUFRAM and then delivered the parts back to the manufacturer so that the critical deadlines could be met.  TUFRAM is designed to provide greater surface hardness together with permanent lubricity so coating the part eliminated the sticking issues and prolonged the life of the part, therefore improving production efficiency.

Tufram is a superior alternative to other common industry coatings including hard anodize, hard anodize polymer impregnated (PTFE), hardcoat anodize, and sulfuric anodize.
