Problem: Automation Engineering designs robotic systems and the moving parts have to function smoothly and effortlessly. However, the metal to metal contact of the steel parts in a robotic system can generate an enormous amount of wear and tear from the inherent friction created by their constant motion. Solution: MAGNAPLATE HMF was applied to the parts and wear due to friction was reduced to a minimum - a coeffecient of friction as low as 0.06 can be achieved. This eliminates "stick slip" and the undesirable vibration of higher break away friction.
