Problem:
When drilling for oil, measurements of even slight earth or rock movements are critical to an efficient operation.  From hundreds to thousands of feet below the wellhead, these movements are analyzed.  A company developing a device for measuring these movements found that their stainless steel parts within the device were galling.

Solution:
The General Magnaplate technical sales team determined that Nedox would be the best coating for the stainless steel parts.  Designed to create a harder-than-steel surface to protect parts against galling and wear, Nedox has the added benefit of providing corrosion resistance.  Due to the success of the coating, the device manufacturer is now looking to develop their technology further for seismic studies.

Nedox is a superior alternative to other common industry coatings such as nickel plating, electroless nickel, sulfamate nickel, co-dep electroless nickel (or EN), polymer impregnated (or infused) electroless nickel.
