Hydraulic jacks that support aircrafts during maintenance operations must withstand the corrosive nature of weather and the chemicals used during operations. Coating these parts in Nedox creates a harder-than-steel surface and adds permanent lubricity, abrasion and galling resistance and protection from corrosion and chemical attack.
Military Aircraft Rotors
Stainless steel hydraulic rotary actuators for military aircraft demand a high hardness to counteract strong friction and wear from hostile environments. A thin layer of Magnagold® can increase surface hardness and resist wear and abrasion up to 20 times better wear and abrasion resistance than stainless steel.
Poor fuel quality with a high sulfur content and particulates can ruin aluminum parts used in vehicles in remote locations. Magnaplate HCR can provide the protection needed to keep the vehicles rolling in challenging conditions.
Glass or carbon filament is wound under tension on a rotating mandrel for a guided missile system. A carrier filled with resin travels along the mandrel and impregnates the fibers. Once the mandrel has the proper thickness, the part is cured by air or oven. Removing excess resin after curing proved quite difficult. Our Nedox 605 coating was used to release the sticky resin from the shafts.
Meeting Military Specifications
Looking to upgrade from standard hard anodizing for improved protection, a machine shop turned to General Magnaplate for help with aluminum fuel pump cavities. Our Tufram coating provided the hardness and corrosion-resistant properties needed to stand up to the environment while maintaining the close tolerances of the inner diameter of the part. Military specifications such as AMS2482 were met with Tufram.
