Tufram®

Protect Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys Against Wear, Corrosion, Sticking and Galling

Created in a multi-step process, Tufram surface treatments make aluminum surfaces harder than steel. They combine the hardness of aluminum oxide ceramic with the desirable properties of our proprietary polymers, far outperforming conventional hard anodizing and similar processes when it comes to corrosion resistance, friction reduction and hardness.

Tufram is highly resistant to corrosion, as well as to acids and alkali chemicals. In addition, its low coefficient of friction (COF) protects against a wide variety of abrasive wear mechanisms and galling, making it well-suited to solve stick-slip behavior and the resulting vibrations in sliding motion applications.

Tufram also dramatically improves the surface hardness of aluminum — to levels comparable with case-hardened steel or hard chrome.

Thanks to these characteristics, Tufram improves the performance and durability of aluminum components and makes it easy to replace steel in a wide variety of manufacturing, processing and packaging equipment.

Tufram Key Technical Advantages
