Magnaplate HMF®

Create a Mirror-smooth Surface With Combined Hardness, Corrosion Resistance and Low COF

Magnaplate HMF is a proprietary, multi-step coating process that produces a mirror-smooth surface with a micro-finish as low as 4 Ra and a low Coefficient of Friction (COF). This coating can obtain a hardness up to 68 Rc and can be applied to ferrous metal, copper or aluminum alloys.

In addition to creating a hard mirror-finish, the total process gives the part permanent lubricity, exceptional abrasion resistance and protection against solvents, corrosion and wear. It also effectively prevents galling and seizing.

Salt spray resistant per ASTM B-117, Magnaplate HMF exceeds 336 hours of corrosion resistance when coated to 0.001 inch or greater, and it provides better chloride protection than chrome plating.

This surface treatment is suitable for a wide variety of applications including pharmaceutical and cosmetic manufacturing, paper and film production, ball valves and seats, and packaging equipment.
